On behalf of all of the members of the Uintah City Fire Department, please allow me to welcome you to and thank you for visiting our department website. The UFD is a unique and diverse group of individuals who are dedicated to the protection of life, property, and the health of the Citizens of the City of Uintah and our visitors.

Our personnel are continually training to keep up their skills, knowledge and abilities in order to provide our community the full range of emergency services deserved and expected in a cost effective manner.

Since I began in the fire service over 20 years ago, the Fire Service and the world has changed dramatically. Our communities are faced with new threats, and the fire department is the go to agency tasked to respond and mitigate those threats. When our department was founded in 1973, firefighters were just that - those who responded to suppress fires. Now our firefighters are expected to perform those fire suppression duties as well as hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and emergency medical response. Our Fire Department has adapted to this change well and we continue to strive to stay ahead of those traditional and contemporary threats facing our city by providing an all-hazards approach to our training and operations.

As a full service fire department our personnel provide programs to the community such as CPR Training, Safety Inspections, Fire Extinguisher Training, Public Fire Education, and emergency preparedness training in addition to our response duties. I would like to invite you to look at the various programs we provide to our community and surrounding cities under the "Programs" tab.

I would also encourage you to visit our recruitment page where you will find opportunities to assist your community. Not all of the needs of a fire department revolve around incident response and the UFD is often seeking support volunteer personnel to help with various administrative and other logistical functions of the department. These volunteer opportunities will allow you to assist your community as a whole as well as learn valuable skills and provide the crucial support that might save a life of a friend or family member.

The UFD actively seeks partnerships with our citizens and corporate residents of the city, and it is through these relationships that the UFD becomes better equipped to be the all-hazard full service fire department that the community has come to expect.

I would like to invite you to stop by the Fire Station and meet your City Firefighters and EMTs. We are all very proud to be YOUR Fire Department and are ready to help you whenever and wherever needed.

Thank you again, and welcome!
